Have you ever seen one of these? It's a wood fired hot tub! You make a fire under the stainless coil (there on the left, above) and the water heats up as it travels through the coil. Apparently you can even cook on it as you are filling it up (according to the pictures on the website) and you might have to, because it takes two hours to heat up. It also takes quite a bit of wood (the website says how much wood depends on your ability to make a good fire hahaha!). It's made in The Netherlands and I can't find a US distributor, so on top of the pretty hefty price of the tub, I'm sure shipping would be outrageous. All in all, it's a pretty capricious and whimsical item but I can dream, right?
We are expecting temps in the mid to upper 70's again*, so I'm looking forward to getting some more garden clean up done. Hope you all are having an equally beautiful weekend!
*not to be Darlene Downer or anything, but I'm sure we can all agree we are going to pay for this beautiful, amazing Spring all Summer long, right? Oh! Just realized today is St. Patty's Day! Have a happy one!
It's very cool. Probably hard to regulate the water temp though.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point - maybe it again depends on your fire-building ability? I think I want one too... for my 100 acre farm I don't have yet!
DeleteYou had to go and get all practical on me, didn't you Steve? I'm quite sure you are probably right!
