"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily. " ~ Zig Ziglar

As I mentioned the other day, I am so enamoured of how the Living Room looks after painting it, that I decided to paint some other rooms (maybe all the rooms!)in the house.  So I went out to Lowe's, found a beautiful very, very light, almost white, shade of gray/green, called White Sage that I loved. Last weekend I started the cut-in work, but was called away to numerous other activities before I finished.  All week long after work I've had yoga, chores, or other things to keep me busy, so I haven't had time to get back to it.  Then yesterday I came home from work to find this:

My sweet, firstborn lovely was at the house and decided to finish painting for me while she waited for me to get home from work!  What a nice surprise!  Turns out she's a really good painter.  She said she finds painting relaxing work.  I think she takes after me for that, because I think so too.

So here is my tiny, little, only bathroom in all her newly-painted glory.

I'm going to change out that metal switch plate cover for a white one asap!

  1. Oh,h,h...What a sweetie! Bathroom looks fabulous! I am so impressed.

  2. Do you rent her out? I've got 10 windows to paint. Just think how relaxed she'll be! Better than a massage I'm sure!

  3. Bathroom looks beautiful. What a sweetheart she is.

I only have one too but it is not as charming as yours. I love the paneling. And you have outlets, not I....

Jealousy aside, what a beautiful job and a beautiful surprise.

    xo Jane

  4. oh karin, what a sweetheart your daughter is! your bathroom is so pretty. it looks so well-ordered and peaceful.

  5. Maybe you have some hints on raising such a thoughtful girl?! My boys would live with the half paint job and probably never even notice I started it! Very thoughtful ~
It looks wonderful and so fresh feeling. I love the floor tile!

  6. Hi all,
Yep, she is a good daughter. I always say she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Steve - hahahaha! I'll run it by her!
Jane - thanks! I do appreciate the outlets, but the beadboard, while it looks cute in the picture, was put up by previous owner in a very shoddy manner - it's crooked! One day I'll be replacing it with new beadboard put in correctly!
Janet - It's not always easy to keep things looking peaceful around my house, but I try! thanks!
Sarah - I think that's one of differences between girls and boys - girls notice things that boys don't (in general)! And what I said to Jane about the beadboard goes double for the floor. It looks cute at first glance, but the former owner did a terrible job of installing it. It's crooked too! Oh well, one more project...

  7. The bath room looks great and oh I wish I had a first born. Thanks for dropping by, it's always nice to hear from you.
